Camp iCare at Schmid Elementary got off to a great start. The opening ceremony of  Camp iCare began with the introductions of Team 360 and the Schmid Elementary School teachers. Afterwards, a skit was presented to demonstrate many of the core principles of philanthropy, specifically: values, interests, issues, and impact.

During the time with the team, the Camp iCare participants discussed their individual values, interests, issues, and impact. Upon completion of the discussion, Camp iCare participants were able to begin their class projects for the day, which included an Olympic rings poster and the Olympic pennant.

Afterwards, the Camp iCare participants had an excellent opportunity to learn from an incredible guest speaker, Coach Reita Clanton. Coach Reita was a member of the United States' 1984 Olympic team in Los Angeles, and competed on the United States' first ever womens handball team. Coach Reita discussed the importance of following your dreams. While closing the morning session, Coach Reita offered a great opportunity for each participant to dive into their "Genius Zone," which is a time to reflect on one's dreams and achievements in life.

During the afternoon session, Coach Reita emphasized the importance of the Auburn Creed. She specifically noted the lines "I believe that this is a practical world and that I can only count on what I earn. Therefore, I believe in work, hard work." Coach Reita showed a video on the 1984 Olympics, specifically with the United States' first team handball match with China. Upon conclusion of the discussion, Coach Reita taught all of the Camp iCare participants how to play team handball.
